Buying a yacht follows a well-established sequence. Here is each step, what it involves, and what we do for you along the way.
Send us a message about any yacht on this site, or tell us what you are looking for. We reply with the full specification, more photos and video, and answers to your questions.
We arrange a private viewing at the yacht’s berth. If you are abroad, start with a live video walkthrough so you only travel for the yachts that fit.
Offers are made in writing and are normally subject to a satisfactory survey and sea trial. You can send one from the enquiry form on any listing.
We present your offer to the seller and handle the negotiation until both sides agree terms.
Buyer and seller sign a sale agreement, often based on the standard MYBA memorandum of agreement. It sets the price, the deposit (commonly 10%), the dates for survey and sea trial, and the closing date.
The deposit is held as the agreement specifies, typically in a client or escrow account, rather than paid straight to the seller.
Your own independent surveyor inspects the hull, engines and systems, and you take the yacht out on a sea trial.
If the survey finds problems, you can agree repairs or a price adjustment with the seller, or withdraw under the terms of the agreement.
You pay the balance. The seller delivers the bill of sale and the yacht’s documents, and she is registered to you under the flag you choose. Then we hand her over.

Yes. Buyer’s brokers are welcome, and your broker can contact us directly about any yacht on this site.
Every listing shows the seller’s asking price. Every written offer we receive is presented to the seller.
It depends on the yacht. Where the VAT status is known it is shown on the listing: MY MARY, for example, is VAT paid. Ask us about any yacht and we will confirm it in writing.
Yes. Many buyers view by video first, then travel for the viewing and sea trial. Registration and delivery can be arranged for wherever you want to keep the yacht.
The buyer appoints and pays the surveyor, so the report works for you. Costs such as haul-out for the survey are set out in the sale agreement.
Send an enquiry from any listing, or call or WhatsApp Alexander or Martin.
